Hamilton Water Restrictions

Record State Government investment in water infrastructure in partnership with some welcome rain and the terrific water saving efforts of the community mean restrictions have been eased in 299 towns since January 2009.
I was delighted to be able to announce with Wannon Water that from 1st August, Hamilton, Cavendish, Dunkeld and Tarrington will come off water restrictions. This means all towns in Wannon Water’s area will now be on Permanent Water Saving Measures.
Permanent Water Saving Measures will mean:
- Public and residential lawns and gardens can be watered any day of the week at any time with a hand held hose with a trigger nozzle or between 8pm and 10am with a watering system
- Vehicles can be washed with a hose fitted with a trigger nozzle
- New pools up to 10,000 litres can be filled without a permit application
- Sportsgrounds can be watered at any time with a hose or between 8pm and 10am with a watering system
