Ikea comes to Springvale

Proof that Springvale remains Australia’s multicultural heart was the opening of Swedish home furnishing giant, Ikea on 8 September.
The Southern Hemispheres largest Ikea store at 36,000sqm (yes for Ikea aficionados, that is 3 times larger than the Victoria Gardens store) features a 750 seat restaurant (that’s a lot of Swedish meatballs) and 60 room settings.
The opening was a gala affair with hundreds of people queuing for up to five hours to be amongst the first to check it out.
